Why You Might Be Having Headaches
If you have consistent headaches, it’s no secret to you that these are a painful nuisance. As your Chicago chiropractors, we see plenty of clients with persistent headaches, and we know some of the many ways to help investigate and treat them. Next time you consider popping a pain reliever or trying to weather the discomfort, try taking a look at why they might be happening to you.
Do You Keep Tabs on Your Diet?
A good baseline for water consumption is to drink about half your body weight in ounces, but a good rule of thumb is to simply drink as much as you can, and as much as is comfortable for your body. Check with your physician to see what they recommend for water consumption. For the rest of your body, consider keeping a food diary to try and identify any patterns between what you eat and what you feel.
Do You Need to Intake More Oxygen?
Many of us are naturally shallow breathers, and regular headaches can be a good indicator that we need more oxygen in our brains. A good way to get more oxygen to your brain is to take a few minutes daily to focus on our breathing, or perhaps to practice yoga or deep breathing meditation.
Do You Have Good Posture?
One of the many things we focus on as your Chicago chiropractors is your posture. Have you ever noticed your head leaning forward? When the muscles and ligaments in your neck are strained due to poor posture, it can give you a headache. Remember, your head should be level with your shoulders.
